BREAK FROM NYSC DIARIES
I find it intriguing when I have conversations with people I meet. Maybe not random people, but people I run into. And then I realize that it justifies the fact that I tend to keep a small circle.
I have taken it as a task upon myself to appreciate the way people around me think at every opportunity I get. Maybe it's their birthday, a special event or something like that because I have come to understand that this generation has turned abnormal things into normal things. They have turned simple things into extravagant things. They have turned life into something where you feel like you need to build the whole world around it. (I don’t know if that makes sense).
But the people I have in my circle(maybe not a lot of them), they understand that the simple things are still important(the simple things still stand). They understand that time might pass, events might happen but effort matters and sustains and communication still stands.
There are some things you should not have an excuse for. Some things you should not wipe out just because "everybody's feeling it" or "everybody's going through something". In the situation of our world today, that should not be an excuse(the person going extra mile doesn’t mean their garden has enough water and sunlight).
I am grateful for the people in my circle. They understand that a tree cannot be called a forest. And one person cannot be called "us." As much as one tree is important, a forest is also important. As much as one person is important, the people around that person are also important.
Yeah. Just random thoughts but from now on, I will always take out time to appreciate the people in my circle. My friends and the family I am building for myself.
P.S: Another time, I will talk about those that feel because they have found what’s working for them, those on another part aren’t going to make it.
